New ways to build confidence

Brand safety and suitability on TikTok continue to evolve from foundational controls into a more complete system of advertiser choice, transparency, and measurement.

Our latest updates expand third-party post-campaign brand safety and viewability measurement to more surfaces, including Brand Consideration, Search, upgraded Smart+ campaign creation, Product GMV Max in the U.S., and TikTok Lite, with partner availability varying by market, objective, and solution.

We are also continuing to extend measurement to additional surfaces, including TopView for eligible global accounts, and Product GMV Max in more regions. For advertisers, that means more ways to understand campaign delivery across a broader set of TikTok placements.

The rise of ad integrity

Advertisers are also increasingly focused on ad integrity: not just whether an ad appears in a suitable environment, but whether it is delivered, seen, and able to drive meaningful attention.

Two recent updates support this shift. First, third-party post-campaign viewability measurement with DoubleVerify, IAS, and Zefr helps advertisers understand whether an ad had the opportunity to be seen, using independent partner reporting after delivery. This gives brands another layer of confidence in campaign quality and media accountability.

Second, attention measurement with DoubleVerify gives advertisers post-campaign insights into how audiences engage with ads. These insights can help brands better understand creative quality, optimize targeting, and improve future campaign planning.

Together, viewability and attention measurement help advertisers move beyond “was my ad safe?” toward a stronger question: "Did my ad show up in a quality environment, have the opportunity to be seen, and earn meaningful attention?"

More control across the campaign journey

TikTok's Brand Safety and Suitability ecosystem is designed to give advertisers control before, during, and after a campaign runs. Whether brands want to proactively shape where ads appear, manage engagement while campaigns are live, or validate outcomes through independent measurement, the TikTok Safety Suite offers solutions across the entire campaign lifecycle.

Brand Safety Controls

Before your campaign: Pre-campaign controls

These controls help advertisers proactively shape the content environments where their ads can appear.

  • TikTok Inventory Filter — Choose from Expanded, Standard, or Limited inventory tiers to align ad placements with your brand's suitability preferences and risk tolerance.

  • TikTok Category Exclusion — Prevent ads from appearing adjacent to select content categories, including Gambling & Lotteries, Violent Video Games, Combat Sports, and Youth Content.

  • TikTok Vertical Sensitivity — Exclude content from selected industry verticals, helping brands avoid appearing next to content that may not align with their objectives or positioning.

  • TikTok Video Exclusion List — Exclude specific videos by ID to create customized suitability controls and greater precision over content adjacency.

  • TikTok Profile Feed Exclusion List — Exclude specific creators by ID to prevent ads from appearing within their profile feeds.

During your campaign: In-flight tools

These solutions help advertisers manage and moderate campaign experiences while ads are actively running.

After your campaign: Independent measurement

Measurement solutions from accredited third-party partners help advertisers validate campaign delivery and gain additional transparency. TikTok's measurement partners include DoubleVerify, IAS, and Zefr (availability varies by market, objective, and solution).

  • Brand Safety Measurement — Measure the percentage of impressions delivered alongside content that meets industry brand safety standards.

  • Brand Suitability Measurement — Understand how campaigns performed against customized suitability preferences beyond standard safety thresholds.

  • TikTok Category Exclusion Measurement — Validate the effectiveness of Category Exclusion controls through independent reporting.

  • TikTok Vertical Sensitivity Measurement — Measure performance against selected vertical sensitivity settings.

  • Misinformation Measurement — Gain insight into campaign delivery adjacent to misinformation-related content classifications.

  • Emissions Measurement — Understand estimated campaign carbon emissions and support sustainability reporting goals.
