About enhanced data postback with the App Events SDK

Last updated: November 2025

Enhanced data postback automatically collects in-app page information such as metadata and button clicks through the App Events SDK. This feature is currently in limited closed testing with the objective of eventually improving ads delivery and providing signal automation improvements. The following information will be collected if you installed the App Events SDK starting from version 1.4.0 and have the toggle enabled in Events Manager:

  • Descriptive page metadata (for example, page structures, UI classes, element labels and positions, key parameters such as value and currency).

  • Button click and text elements (for example, button name, descriptive text, and attributes).

  • For the Unity engine plugin only, in-game content like on-screen game engine text, loaded resource types, and other asset filenames will also be collected.

Opt out of enhanced data postback

If you would like to opt out of sharing this additional data with TikTok, you can do so by toggling Enhance data postback off in your Events Manager settings. You can opt back in at any time.

Viewing SDK data

We recommend enabling debug mode to view the data being sent to TikTok in your system logs before release, and ensuring it aligns with data-sharing policies and does not include data that may be deemed sensitive. Data from or about Children (as defined in Clause 2.8 of the TikTok Business Products (Data) Terms) must not be shared with TikTok for Business. The TikTok App Events SDK must be implemented in a compliant manner:

  • If your app is primarily marketed to Children, an age gate is required. The TikTok App Events SDK must not be initialized and data must not be transferred to TikTok for Business until after the age gate is passed.

  • If your app is not primarily marketed to Children, the TikTok App Events SDK may be used without an age gate. However, in all cases, data from or about Children must not be transferred to TikTok for Business.

For more information about data collection policies, refer to TikTok Business Product Data Terms and TikTok Privacy Policy.
