How to generate a custom avatar with Symphony Creative Studio

Generate avatar is a feature in Symphony Creative Studio that allows you to create a custom avatar for your brand. You'll be able to upload videos of a person that you want to make into an avatar when creating content in Symphony Creative Studio.


Note: Generate avatar is open to select customers. It is not available for users in the UK and EU, and it is not available for users in Texas and Illinois due to local restrictions. Please contact your TikTok sales representative for more information.


Before you begin

  • Log into Creative Studio with your TikTok for Business account. If you do not have an account, create your TikTok for Business account. Learn more about TikTok for Business accounts.

  • If it's your first time accessing Symphony Creative Studio, you'll need to:

    • Complete your profile.

    • Accept the Creative GenAI Terms.


Note: Only the person whose likeness will be used in the custom avatar is able to create the avatar. You'll be required to verify your identity to protect your account from fraudulent activity and misuse.

How to generate a custom avatar in Symphony Creative Studio

To generate a custom avatar:

  1. Log into Symphony Creative Studio on your desktop.

  2. Select Generate avatar.

  3. Click Get started.

  4. Check the box to agree to the terms and conditions.

  5. Click I agree.

  6. Enter your name and click Get started.

  7. Click Verify now.

  8. Once your identity is verified, click Continue.

  9. Turn on your camera and microphone.

  10. Click Start recording and read the script.

  11. Click Continue.

  12. Click + Upload file to add voice and body language training videos.

  13. Click Continue.

  14. Add the name of your avatar.

  15. Click Continue.

After your avatar video has been processed, you'll receive an email about the status of your trained avatar within 1-2 business days.

To manage your avatar:

  1. Click on the Avatars tab on the Symphony Creative Studio homepage. You'll be able to:

    • Track all of your custom avatars.

    • Manage permissions.

    • Delete your custom avatars.

    • View all videos using your custom avatars, including videos created through other accounts with access to your custom avatar.

To share your custom avatar:

  1. Click on the Avatars tab on the Symphony Creative Studio homepage.

  2. Select the avatar.

  3. Click Share.

  4. Enter the TikTok Business ID for each user to share access.

    • Note: Invited brands, partners, employees, etc., must be logged into Symphony Creative Studio using their TikTok for Business account.
