Overview

What does the TikTok x Square integration enable?

With the TikTok channel set up in Square, you’ll be able to sync your Square catalog to TikTok to power commerce features such as a Shopping tab on your TikTok profile and product links in TikToks, driving followers and fans back to your Square Online site to make a purchase. By setting up this channel, you’ll also easily be able to set up TikTok For Business and Ad accounts or sync an existing one, install the TikTok pixel in one click for enhanced ad tracking and targeting, and manage which of your Square items are synced to TikTok all from the Square dashboard.


Do I need to have a TikTok account?

Yes, to access TikTok Shopping and use Product Links, or boost posts through Promote, you will need a TikTok account.

What is Advanced Matching?

Advanced Matching is an upgrade to the TikTok Pixel that allows you to send privacy-safe hashed customer information (email addresses and phone numbers) to increase the match rate between TikTok ad clicks (and at a later date views) and conversions that happen on your website.


TikTok Shopping

How many products can I sync when launching TikTok Shopping on Square?

To launch TikTok Shopping you need only 1 product, but we recommend a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 2000 products.


Where do sales occur once users start their purchase on TikTok?

Users can view the product details within the TikTok app. However, the user will be directed to your Square Online site to make the purchase & complete the transaction


How will users discover TikTok Shopping for my products?

There are two ways: when the user clicks on the ‘Product Link’ in your video and lands on the product detail page or when the user visits your TikTok profile, under the Shopping tab. The 'Product Link' will only be visible to users in the US, while your video will be visible globally.


Can I sync products which have multiple SKUs?

Yes. We are able to support multi-variant items that might have multiple sizes or colors. For example, you may have a sweatshirt that comes in red or blue and is available in sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL.


Do I need to be spending on TikTok to use TikTok Shopping/Product Links?

No. TikTok Shopping/Product Links are organic and do not require Sellers to be actively investing in ads. It is recommended to create organic videos to build your organic following, as this will allow for better engagement through TikTok Shopping.


Can I track purchases?

Yes. You can track organic purchases from TikTok with the Pixel installed and via the Store Manager backend, both at an aggregate and product level.


Can I connect my Creator account to TikTok Shopping?

For the time being, when you connect a Creator account to activate TikTok Shopping, it will automatically be upgraded to a Business account, with many Branding features to optimize a seller presence on TikTok.

How do I start running paid advertising campaigns?

You will need to use  TikTok Ads Manager  to start running paid campaigns


Do I need a new ads manager account to set up Square x TikTok?

You can connect a new or an exsiting TikTok Ads Manager account to Square x TikTok.


If I have a campaign running with the TikTok Pixel created via the TikTok channel, what will happen if I remove the channel?

Your campaigns using the TikTok pixel created through the TikTok channel will remain active, but the pixel will stop sending back any data to Ads Manager.

What if I already advertise on TikTok and my Ad account is managed by an Agency?

If you already advertise on TikTok with an ad account managed by an agency, you may follow these steps:

  1. ​Create an ad hoc Business Center (ensure this is regular and not agency), or connect to an existing regular, self-serve Business Center if you have one, and an Ad Account during the Plugin set-up.

  2. ​On TikTok For Business, give your agency user access to the aforementioned regular Business Center (this will be as a Member only, Partner access is currently unavailable via regular Business Center).

  3. ​ Also give your agency user access to your Ad Account and Catalog (after relevant Business Info is entered and approved).

  4. ​Request access to their agency's Ad Account via the Business Center (this will not give the Agency access to the pixel or catalog associated with the plugin integration).


Why am I getting an error when trying to access my Catalog on TikTok Ads Manager and run catalog-base ads (e.g. Collection Ads)?
