Bulk Import & Export FAQs
Last updated, January 2023

Does the import template support multiple languages?

Yes, the import template supports multiple languages. The headers of the import template will be consistent with your language setting on TikTok Ads Manager.

For example, if you want to download a template with headers in Japanese, you will need to set the language on TikTok Ads Manager to Japanese, and then download your import template or export your ads.

Note: While the header's of the template support multiple languages, some of the fields on the template must be entered in English.

Why are the fields in the template different from the ones I downloaded yesterday?

This is likely because we have updated the import template and its related fields. To learn more about how we update our template, see About Bulk Import & Export Template for more details.

If I don't want to enter a field, can I delete that column?

No. If you delete a column or edit the text in a header, your file will fail to import. If you do not need to enter a field, leave that column blank.

Can I create new ads and edit existing ads by importing one file?

Yes, you can import a single file that will create new ads and edit existing ones. To create new ads, leave the fields under the Campaign Id, Ad Group Id, and Ads Id blank. To edit your existing ads, edit your desired fields without making any changes to the "Id" related fields.

Can I use Bulk Import & Export to add a profile image?

Yes. There are two ways that you can do this.

If you want to use a profile image that you have used in another ad, export that ad and copy and paste the link of the profile image into the relevant field on your import template.

If you want to use a new profile image, you will need to upload the profile image to your Assets > Creative, and then enter the filename of the profile image into the relevant field on your import template.

Can I use the Bulk Import & Export to customize my video's thumbnail?

No. The system will automatically set the first frame of the video as the thumbnail. To modify your ad's thumbnails, you will need to do this on TikTok Ads Manager by editing your ads from your Campaign tab.
