Product GMV Max uses creative exploration to learn which creatives are most likely to drive sales for your products. Instead of relying on one ad right away, the system tests eligible creatives, compares performance signals, and gradually gives more delivery opportunities to creatives with stronger potential.
As your creatives move through exploration, they may become available for testing, enter exploration, gather enough signals to be evaluated, or become ineligible due to issues such as authorization, rejection, exclusion, unavailability, or inactivity. Historical signals from the same product may also help the system evaluate creatives more efficiently over time.
Currently the creative exploration metrics and recommendations are available in Product GMV Max. Some related recommendations may only appear when they are relevant to your account, campaign setup, or creative performance.
1. Keep enough creatives available for testing by uploading fresh creatives regularly and adding variations across hooks, openings, pacing, creators, offers, and product demonstrations.
2. Remove blockers that prevent creatives from entering exploration - review creatives that need authorization, were rejected, are unavailable, excluded, or inactive, and fix those issues where possible.
3. Give the system enough room to learn by setting a sufficient budget, avoiding an overly restrictive ROI goal, and allowing enough delivery for creatives to gather meaningful signals.
4. Use Accelerate testing for new videos feature when relevant. You can use Accelerate testing to help newer or promising creatives get tested faster, and use Creative Boost when available to help promising creatives gain more exposure.
5. If creatives are explored but few become strong performers, focus on quality. GMV Max may recommend improving creative quality when outstanding rate is the main gap.
Best practices to improve creative quality:
Identify repeatable patterns from top creatives
Test stronger hooks and clearer openings
Show product value earlier and more clearly
Strengthen pacing, transitions, and storytelling
Use stronger offers or calls to action
Build new variations from proven winners
6. Monitor exploration performance regularly by checking your available creatives, explored rate, and high-performing creative outcomes to spot gaps early and adjust your strategy.
