How to star or unstar chats in the Professional Inbox for Businesses

Starring chats in the Professional Inbox for Businesses allows you to effectively categorize and prioritize your chats based on importance.


Note: You can't star or unstar spam chats.


Before you begin

Ensure your TikTok account has access to the Professional Inbox for Businesses.

The Professional Inbox may not be available to you yet. This feature is currently available to Organization Accounts, Verified Business Accounts, and TikTok Account with Advanced Access and TikTok Messaging Ads history. Learn more about TikTok account entitlements.


How to star a single chat

To star a single chat in the Professional Inbox:

  1. Open your TikTok app and log in to your TikTok account.

  2. Go to your Inbox page.

  3. Find the chat you want to star.

  4. For iOS users, swipe left on the chat and tap Star to mark it.

    • For Android users, long press the chat and then tap Star to mark it.This chat will automatically appear in the Starred tab.


How to star multiple chats

To star multiple chats in the Professional Inbox:

  1. Open your TikTok app and log in to your TikTok account.

  2. Go to your Inbox page.

  3. Tap the three dots next to the magnifying glass icon on the top right of your screen.

  4. Tap Select chats.

  5. Select the chats you want to star and tap Star. These chats will automatically appear in the Starred tab.


How to unstar a single chat

To unstar a single chat in the Professional Inbox:

  1. Open your TikTok app and log in to your TikTok account.

  2. Go to your Inbox page.

  3. Find the chat you want to unstar.

  4. For iOS users, swipe left on the chat and tap Unstar.

    • For Android users, long press the chat and then tap Unstar.This will remove the chat from the Starred tab.


How to unstar multiple chats

To unstar multiple chats in the Professional Inbox:

  1. Open your TikTok app and log in to your TikTok account.

  2. Go to your Inbox page.

  3. Tap the three dots next to the magnifying glass icon on the top right of your screen.

  4. Tap Select chats.

  5. Select the chats you want to unstar and tap Unstar. These chats will be automatically removed from the Starred tab.


By using the starring function, you can easily categorize chats based on their significance and enhance your communication management.
