TikTok provides several options for paying for your ads. Depending on your account setup, the available billing options may include manual payment, automatic payment, and monthly invoicing.
In some cases, you may be able to change your billing option after you create your account. However, not all billing option changes are available.
Eligible accounts can currently change their billing option in the following ways:
From manual payment to automatic payment.
From manual payment to monthly invoicing.
From automatic payment to monthly invoicing.
If you work with a TikTok account manager, contact them for help with eligibility and next steps.
If you do not have an account manager, the option to change your billing option may become available after your account shows stable spending and a positive payment history. To remain eligible, make sure your account stays in good standing with no overdue or delayed payments. The upgrade option may appear automatically as a notification banner in TikTok Ads Manager:
Go to Tools and click Billing.
Click Payment, and then My Billing Options.
If your ad account belongs to a Business Center, you can also find the upgrade entrance in TikTok Business Center:
Go to Finance and click Payment Management.
Click Settings, and then Billing Options.
After you select a billing option, some changes aren't available, which helps keep your billing process consistent. The following billing option changes are not supported:
From automatic payment to manual payment.
From monthly invoicing to manual payment.
From monthly invoicing to automatic payment.
If you're using automatic payment or monthly invoicing and would like more control over your spending, you can set a budget cap in TikTok Ads Manager. To do this, go to Tools and click Billing, then Edit Budget. Learn more about using Budget Manager.
Setting a budget cap can help you limit spending while avoiding delivery interruptions that may happen when a prepaid balance runs out before you top it up.
If you would like to use manual payment instead, you may need to create a new ad account and select that payment method during the initial setup.
