To support this, we have established a content quality standard for commercial content. This standard helps you produce branded content that resonates with users and delivers value to brands through TikTok, ensuring every collaboration contributes to your long-term growth. Content quality dimensions

We evaluate commercial content across three key dimensions, each with specific tags that define quality.

1. User experience

This dimension evaluates whether the content reflects authentic feedback and actual product usage, allowing users to understand a product's performance through the creator's firsthand experience.

  • Authenticity and trustworthiness: Content appears natural and credible, such as by using open and honest communication, describing actual experience or other empirical evidence, or through bona fide endorsements.

  • Resonance and aspirational value: The video fosters a genuine emotional connection, such as warmth, nostalgia, or inspiration, rather than hollow sentimentality.

  • Engagement: It encourages active interaction (such as comments, shares, or calls-to-action) through challenges, thought-provoking questions, or trends, or else establishes a sense of connectivity between you and viewers.

  • Entertainment value: The video is designed to entertain, using humor, surprise, or novel creativity that inspires viewers to share it.

  • Information sharing: It delivers valuable educational content, professional skills, or practical lifestyle tips.


2. Commercial value

This dimension focuses on how you present the product, evaluating whether the creative content provides appropriate and practical product information and background for viewers' decision-making.

  • Product presentation: The video clearly demonstrates relevant product information, such as usage instructions, effects, and scenarios. Videos can also showcase the brand's story to help with users' understanding.

3. Content creativity

This dimension focuses on users' overall viewing experience, including whether the content's aesthetic, production value, and creative storytelling enhance users' engagement and support their desire to share. Note: Image, sound, and content quality are foundational baseline requirements. A video that fails to meet any of these standards will be classified as low-quality.

  • Image quality (baseline): The video must meet basic requirements for clarity, stability, and aesthetics, with proper lighting and composition to avoid a negative visual experience.

  • Sound quality (baseline): Audio is clear, audible, and properly synced with visuals, free of prolonged background noise or distortion.

  • Content quality (baseline): The content is complete and consistent across visuals, audio, and text, with clear logic and no compliance conflicts.

  • Creative production: The video captures attention within the first six seconds and uses thoughtful editing, fitting music, and smooth camera work to enhance its appeal.


Where to find the content quality standard review results

After you submit a commercial video through TikTok Creator Marketplace, our system evaluates it against the content quality standard. If the video does not meet the quality standard, the rejection will appear when you navigate to the video's content quality standard review page. To see the results of the content quality standard review:

  1. Log in to the TikTok app.

  2. Tap your Inbox.

  3. Tap the Monetization item for your monetization activities.

  4. Among the monetization activities, find the relevant video for your TikTok One project. You will see a status of Upload revised video for a completed content quality standard review.

  5. Tap Go upload.

  6. Under Your submission, tap the suggested revision item.

  7. If your commercial video is rejected due to the content quality standard review, you may upload a revised video or tap Request an appeal.
