How to connect your Catalog to an App Event Source

Connecting your Catalog with an App Event source will allow you to retarget people who have engaged with your products on your app. You'll be able to deliver ads featuring your most popular products to the most relevant audience.

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • Connect your app with one of the following Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) and configure the following postback event conditions:

    • Adjust,

    • AppsFlyer,

    • Branch,

    • Singular.

Note: In addition to the required events, you may postback as many events as you want.Once you have prepared your MMP and created your App, you can connect your App Event Source to your Catalog.

How to connect your Catalog to an App Event Source

To connect your catalog to an event source:

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Click Assets.

  3. Click Catalog.

  4. Select your catalog.

  5. Under Configure, click Event Sources.

  6. Under App Event Sources, click Connect.

  7. Select your app.

  8. Turn on the Connect toggle.

  9. Click Confirm. Your app will appear in event sources and you can use user postback events to define the targeting method for your catalog sales campaigns.

  10. Select Retarget Audience. This will show specific products to people who have interacted with them on your app.

  11. Select Find Prospective Customers. This will show products that are relevant to people who have not interacted with products on your app.

Once you connect an event source to your catalog, you can click each event source card to check the volume of events being passed back for the three mandatory events (View Content, Add to Cart, and Purchase).
