Kazakhstan: About Value Added Tax (VAT)

Last updated: January 2026

Taxes may be applicable to your purchase of TikTok Ads depending on the market or region of your "billing address", unless otherwise agreed.

TikTok Pte. Ltd. ("TikTok") is registered for VAT in Kazakhstan as a non-resident supplier of services. As such, TikTok is required to collect and remit Value Added Tax ("VAT") on the supply of services in Kazakhstan.

If you are VAT registered in Kazakhstan, you should provide your Tax ID to TikTok. Once your Tax ID is validated by TikTok, no VAT will be charged on our ads invoice and you shall be solely responsible for reporting and remitting the applicable VAT on your purchase under the applicable local tax regulations. If you do not provide a valid Tax ID to TikTok, VAT at the prevailing rate will be added to your ads invoice. Please note that TikTok will not retrospectively adjust invoices issued before these details are provided. If you misrepresent information or provide an invalid Tax ID to TikTok, TikTok reserves the right to charge and collect VAT on your past invoices.

TikTok performs periodic validation checks of your Tax ID to ensure that your Tax ID remains valid. Invalid Tax IDs will be removed immediately and VAT will be applied on all future invoices.

If you have dedicated account support, please provide your Tax ID directly to your TikTok account manager to update your account for you. Otherwise, you may follow the instructions here to update your Tax ID in your TikTok account.

Note: TikTok is unable to advise you on tax matters. Please contact your tax advisor or your local tax authorities for any tax questions that you may have in relation to your ads purchase.
