TikTok on BigCommerce Pixel Recommendation
Last updated, January 2024

If you are NET NEW or RECENT developer-mode pixel installer (i.e., a couple of months of use), we strongly suggest you:

  1. Remove your previously installed developer-mode pixel (if any). Make sure it is not currently used by any active campaigns.

  2. Return to the channel set-up and click Create New to create and install a new pixel. Make sure the “Advanced Matching” feature is ON to improve the match rate between TikTok ad clicks and conversions that happen on your website.

  3. Once the TikTok channel set up is complete, you will be able to choose the exact events you want to track via the channel Analytics page (as below).

If you are an ESTABLISHED developer-mode pixel user ( >than two months of use, with a track of success using it & no issues), then we recommend:

  1. Proceed with the channel set-up and click Create New to create and install a new pixel (you will be able to deactivate it later).

  2. After completing the channel set-up in all its parts, you will be able to navigate to the Analytics page (within the TikTok channel backend on BigCommerce) and fully deactivate the newly-installed pixel.

  3. Keep using your existing dev-mode pixel.

IMPORTANT: By deactivating the newly-installed pixel, you won’t be able to leverage on the Advance Matching feature.
