App attribution in TikTok Ads Manager allows you to track in-app events and installs. You must set up app attribution to track your app's performance.
You will need the following to set up app attribution in TikTok Ads Manager:
Your app's store link
If you plan to track conversion data:
Mobile Measurement Partner: Adjust, Airbridge, AppsFlyer, Branch, Kochava, Singular, and Tenjin
Note: Click Tracking URL and Impression Tracking URL are not mandatory. Some mobile measurement partners do not support these URLs. Refer to the respective help center articles for setup support using the Mobile Measurement Partner tracking guide.
TikTok App Events SDK
If you do not use a third-party ad measurement service, you can still create the app, but TikTok Ads Manager will only measure traffic to your app store, not conversion data. You can add a measurement partner's click and impression URLs later by clicking Add Tracking on the app details page.
Go to Tools in TikTok Ads Manager.
Click the Event page.
Click Manage under App Event.
Click Create New App. A pop-up window will appear.
Enter your app store link in the field and click Next. Note: You can include parameters, such as language, within the URL link.
Select your Mobile Measurement Partner from the drop-down list.
Depending on your MMP, you may need to enter Click or Impression URLs, a partner token, or no configuration at all. Follow the guidance below for each MMP:
Adjust: In the Adjust dashboard, go to the TikTok for Business (Legacy) module and copy Click URL and Impression URL.
Airbridge: In the Airbridge dashboard, go to Tracking Link. Select create Tracking Links and then select TikTok For Business to generate the URLs.
AppsFlyer: No additional configuration required.
Branch: Configure the Branch Key. In the Branch dashboard, go to Account Settings. Select Profile page to find the Branch Key.
Kochava: Configure the Kochava App GUID. The App GUID is located under the app title and in the detail section of your Kochava dashboard.
Singular: No additional configuration required.
Tenjin: Configure the Tenjin integration key. In the Tenjin dashboard, go to the Campaigns tab, select your TikTok account, and create a campaign. Go to Tracking for the App Integration Key.
TikTok Ads Manager will automatically identify the app vertical and display the corresponding in-app events it supports and recommends. Switch to other verticals to see all supported events.
Note: It is not mandatory to set up all recommended events. Conversion data will not be measured in TikTok Ads Manager until you configure the events in your MMP.
Click Done to create your new app.
After you have set up app attribution in TikTok Ads Manager and successfully link an event with your app, monitor it to ensure the tracking information is accurate.
Follow the Mobile Measurement Partner (MMP) Tracking guide for more details on tracking links.
