Setting up app attribution in TikTok Ads Manager is essential for tracking in-app events and driving installs. Follow the steps to configure your app and start tracking its performance.
Ensure you have the following:
Access to TikTok Ads Manager.
Your app's store link.
A Mobile Measurement Partner (MMP) if you plan to track conversion data.
To set up App Attribution in TikTok Ads Manager:
Open TikTok Ads Manager.
Go to the Assets section.
Select the Event page.
Click on Manage under App Event.
Click on Create New App. A pop-up window will appear.
Enter your app store link in the provided field and click Next.
Note: You can include parameters, such as language, within the URL link.
Select your MMP from the drop-down list.
TikTok Recommendation: If you do not use a third-party ad measurement service, you can still create the app, but TikTok Ads Manager will only measure traffic to your app store, not conversion data. You can add a measurement partner's click and impression URLs later by clicking Add Tracking on the app details page.
After selecting your MMP, enter your tracking URLs and click Next.
TikTok Recommendation: The Click Tracking URL is required, and the Default Impression Tracking URL is optional. It is highly recommended to add both. Configure App Events:
TikTok Ads Manager will automatically identify the app vertical and display the corresponding in-app events it supports and recommends.
You can switch to other verticals to see all supported events.
TikTok Recommendation: Configure the app events postback in your MMP based on the recommended events. It is not mandatory to set up all recommended events, and you can adjust them according to your promotion goals. Conversion data will not be measured in TikTok Ads Manager until you configure the events in your MMP. After linking an event with your app, monitor the app to ensure the tracking information is accurate.
Click Done to create your new app.
When you successfully set up app attribution in TikTok Ads Manager, it will enable you to track in-app events and optimize your mobile app campaigns effectively.
