About phone number verification for Instant Forms
Phone number verification helps improve lead quality by validating phone numbers collected through Instant Form's "Personal information" section.
The verification process includes two types of validation:
Phone number format validation (before form submission)
Phone number activity verification (after form submission)
Both features are applied automatically where supported. No additional setup is required.
How phone number format validation works
Before an Instant Form can be submitted, TikTok validates whether the phone number entered matches the expected format for the selected country code. This helps ensure that phone numbers are entered correctly before the form is submitted.
The validation checks that:
Only numeric characters are entered (letters and other invalid characters are not allowed)
The phone number matches the required length for the selected country code
The phone number begins with a valid starting digit for that country
If the phone number doesn't match the expected format, the user will be prompted to correct it before submitting the Instant Form. The validation is based on the selected country code.
Note: The country code is automatically selected based on the user's TikTok account country. If the user has previously submitted an Instant Form, the previously used country code may be pre-filled instead. Users can change it if needed before entering their phone number.

How phone number activity verification works
After an Instant Form is submitted, TikTok checks whether the submitted phone number is an active mobile number. If the phone number is identified as inactive, the submission will not be counted as a lead or conversion and is removed from Lead Center and any connected CRM. If the phone number is active, the submission is counted as a lead and conversion and the lead appears in Lead Center or your connected CRM.
Note: During the verification process, there may be a brief delay of up to 1 minute before the final leads are reflected on Lead Center or CRM.
Why is this feature important?
Format validation helps prevent incorrectly formatted phone numbers, but advertisers may still receive leads with phone numbers that are inactive. Phone number activity verification helps reduce these cases so advertisers receive more contactable leads. Benefits include:
