Key concepts

You can use welcome message templates for lead generation ads that are optimizing toward TikTok Direct Messages. The welcome message template is made out of 3 modules:

Greeting (required)

The greeting module allows you to automatically welcome your customers upon entering a new TikTok Direct Messaging chat. You can introduce your products or services to encourage further interaction.

Display logic: If users enter a chat with the same business, but from different messaging ads, they will receive the welcome message of the newest message ads (if any).

Suggested questions (optional)

You can simplify the conversation-starter process for users with Suggested Questions. Choose from up to three pre-designed questions and receive automated responses, initiating conversations with a single click.

Display logic: Once the customer has selected 1 option, the remaining suggested questions will no longer show.

Form Card (optional)

You can gather leads or customer information using a pop-up form card within TikTok Direct Messaging chats. Collected leads will sync to TikTok Ads Manager's Leads Center and any integrated CRMs.


Display logic: If the customer hasn't submitted the form, but enters the chat from a non-ad traffic direct message entrance, the pop-up form will still be shown to the user until the customer submits the form or gets a new form.
