About suspended ad accounts on TikTok

Last updated: October 2024

We review ads and account behavior to ensure advertisers follow TikTok's advertising policies. If we find your account isn't following our policies, your account may be suspended. You can see how well your account and ads align with our policies in the Account Health tab in TikTok Ads Manager. If your Account Health status says Attention Needed, there are issues with your ads or account, and you'll receive warning notifications and suggestions to improve. If your Account Health status is Poor, your account will be suspended.

Note: Some issues can lead to an immediate suspension if the violation is severe.

Common violations that can lead to account suspension

Your account may have been suspended for one or more of the following reasons:

  • We received reports or complaints about your account from people on TikTok or other channels.

  • There are problems with your ad content, or qualifications or services provided in your ads.

  • You made changes to your ad's landing page after creating a campaign.

  • There is malicious behavior or intent suspected during ad creation.

  • There is a violation of the TikTok Advertising Guidelines or other standards.

What happens if your ad account is suspended

If your ad account is suspended, you'll receive a notification in TikTok Ads Manager that says Your account has been suspended. Your account will have the following restrictions:

  • All ads under the suspended ad account will be stopped. These ads will return to their original status after the account suspension is lifted.

  • You'll lose access to some features in TikTok Ads Manager.

  • People with Admin and Operator permissions for the ad account can change the delivery status of Campaigns, Ad Groups, and Ads. You won't be able to adjust any other settings for your account or campaigns.

  • For agency accounts, suspended accounts can't be used to create new ad accounts or add money to ad accounts.

  • You won't be able to request a refund for your suspended ad account.

Types of account suspensions

Depending on the severity of your violation, your account may be suspended temporarily or permanently.

Temporary suspension

If this is your first violation, you'll have 30 days to address the issues with your ads or ad account or submit an appeal.

Permanent suspension

If these issues remain or your appeal is rejected after 30 days, the suspension will be permanent. You won't be able to appeal this decision and you'll lose access to TikTok Ads Manager features.
