How to set up Promote for Other messaging apps

Promote campaigns allow you get messages from potential customers in your TikTok inbox. You can also get messages from external messaging apps, including WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, LINE, and Zalo.

Note: Other messaging apps is available to select customers and regions.

How to set up Promote for Other messaging apps

To set up Promote for Other Messaging Apps:

1. Create a Promote campaign in the TikTok mobile app. Learn about finding Promote in the TikTok app.

2. Go to Choose your goal, click Get Leads.

3. Select Other messaging apps.

   • Note: This campaign will only target users who are 18 years old or older. LIVE content or Promote for others is not supported.

4. Choose one external messaging channel. You can choose from the following:

   • WhatsApp: Choose the correct country code from the drop-down menu, enter a Valid WhatsApp number, and click Check the link at the bottom of the screen. Note: Business and personal WhatsApp numbers are allowed. The number must be your actively registered WhatsApp number and not just a regular phone number.

   • Messenger: Enter your Facebook Page ID and click Check the link at the bottom of the screen. Note: The Facebook Page ID is only available for Facebook Business Pages.

   • Other URL: Add a universal link or deeplink to your preferred messaging app as the Default URL. Enter a Backup URL to any other online resource if the Default URL is a schema URL and does not open. (E.g. whatsapp://xxxxxx) Click Check the link at the bottom of the screen. Note: Only LINE, Zalo, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger links are currently supported.

5. Go to Select creatives and select up to 5 videos or photos.

6. Select a promotion pack, or customize your promotion:

   • Choose your audience by clicking on Default audience or Create your own. Note: Potential customers that have not installed the selected messaging app, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, will be excluded to optimize the experience. This does not apply if Other URL is selected.

   • Set your Budget and Duration.

7. Review your promotion details.

8. Click Pay.

Once your order is approved, your promotion will be live.
