How to troubleshoot budget

Last updated: July 2026

Budget and spending limits impact ad delivery. If your ads are not delivering as expected, it could be due to budget constraints.

Common reasons for ad delivery issues related to budget

  • Insufficient balance or unsuccessful payment.

  • If your billing option is automatic payment and there is cash balance left in the account, the balance can only be used to pay an existing invoice, but can not be used for consumption.

  • Your account is out of budget or has reached a pre-set spending cap.

  • Your account, campaign, or ad group ran out of budget.

How to troubleshoot ad delivery for budget

Try these steps to troubleshoot ad delivery related to budget:

  1. Ensure you have a valid payment method with no error notification.

    1. Click tools.

    2. Select payment.

    3. Check the Payments and Transaction section to see if there is sufficient balance or any notifications.

  2. When you add funds or change budget settings, it may take some time for the transfer process to finalize before the ads can resume running.

  3. If you are using monthly invoicing, you are being charged with credit. Ensure you have enough credit balance.

  4. If you are using auto balance allocation, you may have reached the pre-set limit for that account. Adjust your budget cap or increase the ad account budget.

  5. If you notice a discrepancy between budget and spending, adjust the date range filter selection. Review any deleted ads and ad groups for a comprehensive view.
