How to troubleshoot business verification

Last updated: October 2025

When you create an ad account, you may be required to verify your business. Troubleshooting any business verification failures helps identify and resolve issues, ensuring the integrity of your advertising efforts and providing a secure experience for all users.

Before you begin

Please make sure that:

  • All documents have all four corners visible

  • All documents are colored

  • All documents are within the validity period and should not expire in the following 30 days upon upload

  • Documents are clearly readable and authentic

  • The account name is complete

Note: Duplicated copies (that is, copy of the copy) and documents with watermarks of third-parties are not acceptable.

Why did your verification fail?

There are several reasons why verification could have failed:

  • The document is incorrect for your location: Make sure you have submitted the required document for your location, use the Acceptable documents for business verification and Acceptable documents for individual identity verification as a guide, remember to check specific requirements on Individual Identity Verification for some countries.

  • The document is incomplete or unclear: You may have submitted the correct document for your location, but there is missing or incomplete information. Ensure the document contains the full company name, that all of the text on your document is clearly displayed and the business license or certification number is visible. If you are photographing your document, place it on a dark background and ensure that all text is legible.

  • The document is inconsistent with the other information of your TikTok account and/or official government requirements: All of the information of your TikTok account - business name, certificate number, company phone number, business address - must be consistent with one another and with the documentation you have submitted. The documents also must be consistent with the official sources of your location, such as the government's website and the document's format.

  • The document has expired: Make sure you have uploaded a document that is within the validity verification period and will not expire in 30 days.

Note: Only JPEG, PNG, PDF, and JPG are supported. File sizes cannot exceed 10 MB.

If your document is still not approved, try submitting a different acceptable document. If you continue to encounter issues after having completed the troubleshooting steps listed above, please contact customer support or request an account review.
