Using TikTok Shop product anchor link together with interactive add-ons in Video Shopping Ads

Before getting started: Using TikTok Shop product links in Video Shopping Ads is currently available in: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam. You will need to connect TikTok Shop to Ad Account for advertising purposes.


There are three ways you can connect TikTok Shop to Ad Account for advertising purposes:

  1. In Ads Manager, link a TikTok Account with Showcase permission authorized. For the steps, refer to How to get Showcase permission.

  2. Or in Seller Center, connect one or multiple Ad Accounts for advertising purposes. See How to Set Up Shopping Ads in Seller Center for the steps.

  3. Or in Business Center, request access to one or multiple TikTok Shops for advertising purposes. See Requesting TikTok Shop Access from Business Center for the steps.


Benefits of using product links in Video Shopping Ads

Product links are a call-to-action in Video Shopping Ads (VSA) that allow you to feature one or more products within your TikTok posts. Using product links can help you get higher click-through rates and conversions. At the same time, product links can be used together with interactive add-ons.


Prerequisites

To use product links in your Video Shopping Ads, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You use the Product Sales with TikTok Shop campaign objective, with Video Shopping selected at ad group level.


Use product links with interactive add-ons

From the Ad level page:


In the "Product Details" section, select + Add and choose the product(s) that you want the ad to link to. "Product anchor link" is the default format of the ad, regardless of whether you use an existing TikTok post or upload a video via Ads Manager.


In the optional "Interactive add-ons" section, select + Create and select from the following options:

  • Product Card

  • Display Card

  • Voting Sticker

  • Countdown Sticker


If you selected Product Card option:

  • In the first 2 seconds, only the Product Anchor Link appears. Upon clicking, product page (showing all purchase-able products selected during ad creation) opens over the video.

  • After 2 seconds, only the Product Card appears (showing the first 3 purchase-able products selected during ad creation). Upon clicking, product page (showing all purchase-able products selected during ad creation) opens over the video.


If you selected Display Card option:

  • Initially, only the Product Anchor Link appears. Upon clicking, product page opens over the video.

  • After that, only the Display Card appears. Upon clicking, product page opens over the video.


If you selected Voting Sticker option:

  • The Voting Sticker and the Product Anchor Link appear together, from the start of the video.

  • User votes by clicking the Voting Sticker.

  • Upon clicking Product Anchor Link, product page opens over the video.


If you selected Countdown Sticker option:

  • The Countdown Sticker and the Product Anchor Link appear together.

  • Upon clicking the Countdown Sticker or the Product Anchor Link, product page opens over the video.

What is the user journey after clicking the product link?

The user journey is a product page that appears over the video, which the user can use to purchase the product.


If I select the product link format, will the ad have a Call-to-Action (CTA) button?

For the Product Sales objective, if an interactive add-on is used, then the ad will have a CTA button. Otherwise, the ad will not have a CTA button.
