When you share video codes for posts with affiliate product links to be used in Shop Ads, you can choose whether or not the ads can feature different product links. If product link changes are allowed, ads may feature products other than those linked in the original post. You can adjust this setting in the TikTok app.
Note: This feature may not be available to you yet.
You'll need to own the TikTok account that posts affiliate videos being used for ads.
You'll need a video post with an affiliate product link.
To authorize product changes for affiliate video codes:
Open the TikTok app.
Find the affiliate post you want to authorize and tap the three dots.
Tap Ad settings.
Turn on Ad authorization. You can adjust how long the ad authorization is active.
Find Affiliate product change authorization and tap the toggle to turn this feature on or off.
If this feature is on, advertisers can use the same or different products for their ads, whereas if it is off, they can only advertise the original product.
For example, Product A and Product B belong to Shop 1. Product C belongs to Shop 2. You create a video with affiliate links to Products A, B, and C and turn product change authorization off:
If Shop 1 creates an ad for Product A, the ad will only be able to link to Product A.
If Shop 1 creates an ad for Product B, the ad will only be able to link to Product B.
If Shop 1 creates an ad for Products A and B, the ad will only be able to link to Products A and B.
If Shop 2 creates an ad for Product C, the ad will only be able to link to Product C.
To share the video code with an advertiser
Go to ad settings.
Navigate to Ad authorization.
Click Generate video code.
You can then send the video code to the advertiser. Learn how advertisers can use an affiliate video code in Shop Ads.
Note: If a post loses a product link because the product's affiliate collaboration ends, the ad will continue to run with the product link until the video code expires. Only posts with affiliate product links will have the affiliate product change authorization control.
Allowing advertisers to change product links on affiliate posts may result in orders not qualifying to pay for affiliate commissions.
If an ad uses a video code for a post that doesn't contain an affiliate product link, then no direct affiliate commission will be applied to the GMV of the ad.
If an ad advertises the original affiliate product links on a post, affiliate commission may be applied to the GMV of the ad for products with active affiliate plans.
