About the affiliate creative commission

Last updated: October 2024

The affiliate creative commission is based on qualified gross merchandise value (GMV) generated by affiliate videos when used in ads. Qualified GMV is determined according to the same attribution logic that affiliate collaborations use.

  • If you choose a video via the Affiliate Mass Authorization method for your Video Shopping Ads, the ad's GMV may lead to commission being paid.

  • If you choose a video for your Video Shopping Ads via other authorization methods, for example uploading or posting a video again, the ad's GMV may not lead to commission being paid.

If you have an Open Collaboration, you can turn on the Shop Ads commission rate to choose a commission rate for your ads. Learn more about setting different affiliate commission rates for TikTok Shop Ads.

If the product on the affiliate video advertised by the seller is also registered under Target Collaboration, then the commission rate will follow the common commission rate set by the Target Collaboration.

Note: Only Open Collaborations are eligible for Affiliate Mass Authorization.

The following ad settings are considered to be run by the affiliate creators themselves, as opposed to sellers running the ads:

  • When Showcase product source is used.

  • When Promote is used by the creators.

For the above ads:

  • The same order may continue to be double attributed to both Ad and Affiliate.

  • The Standard Commission rate will be applied to Affiliate GMV.
