After creating a new Sales, Lead Generation, or App Promotion campaign, you'll choose your budget strategy, either at the Campaign or Ad Group level.

  • Full automation via CBO: To automatically optimize your budget allocation across ad groups, keep the Campaign budget option selected. Enter your campaign budget as needed and choose between daily or lifetime budget. By choosing the campaign budget, the default setting is CBO, meaning the system will automatically optimize budget allocation across all ad groups. Optimization location, goal, event, and target CPA across ad groups have to be the same. Note: When you set a budget at the campaign level, you must have the same optimization location, goal, event, and target CPA across all ad groups.

  • Minimal automation via non-CBO: For more manual control, choose the Ad group budget option, which lets you choose different budget and bidding settings for each ad group.
