About TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea)

TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea), is a short video product launched for users over 18 years old. Unique to Japan and Korea, it is an extension of the main TikTok app and part of the TikTok ecosystem, featuring localized gameplay with points to attract middle-aged and older users. Different from the data-light version of TikTok Lite launched in the other 150+ countries, TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea) is available in both Android and iOS operating systems.

Features and Availability

TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea), the extension version of TikTok with a unique Coin tab, is only available in Japan and Korea. Besides the Coin tab, TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea) offers similar placements to the main TikTok app, including the For You page, Profile Feed, Search tab, and Following feed.


Up to date, we have offered advertisers the opportunity to deliver ads onto TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea) through Brand Auctions (All objectives are supported) and Performance Auctions (Traffic, Lead Generation, App Installs, Web Conversion objectives are supported) via TikTok Ads Manager.


All campaigns and ad groups for performance objectives targeting the main TikTok app are also eligible to show on TikTok Lite within the targeted location. We do not break down reporting for TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea). Advertisers will see performance and delivery results for all placements combined in TikTok Ads Manager.


However, for brand auction objectives, advertisers have the unique ability to control whether their ads are shown on TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea)’s For You page. Break-down reporting for TikTok Lite (Japan and Korea) is provided on TikTok Ads Manager. Note that no ads for brand auction objectives will be shown in the incentive placement nor the Coin Tab.
