How to create a split test

Use the split test toggle in the TikTok Ads Manager when creating a campaign to test two different versions of your ads to determine which one performs best and to improve future campaigns.

How to create a split test

To create a split test:

  1. Go to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Click the Campaign tab.

  3. Click Create.

  4. Choose an advertising objective.

  5. Click the Create a split test toggle.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Complete the settings in the Ad group tab and continue. Note: Set the test schedule dates to at least 7 days so that the system has enough time to collect a useful sample.

  8. Complete settings under the Ad tab and continue.

  9. Select a Split test variable in the Split test tab.

  10. Select a Key metric. The system uses the Key Metric to compare the two ad groups and determine the highest performing ad.

  11. Set up your Test ad group.

  12. Click Complete.
