Retention Optimization (RO), including RO-D1(Day 1) and RO-D7(Day 7) is a TikTok Pangle-exclusive production on the TikTok Ads Manager. RO helps you retain people that not only install the app but also return to the app the following day and on the 7th day. It is best suited for apps that rely on loyalty and value.
To create a campaign for RO with TikTok Pangle placement:
Go to TikTok Ads Manager.
Click the Campaign tab.
Click Create.
Choose App promotion as the advertising objective.
Select App install as the campaign type.
Click Continue.
Choose the app you want to monetize.
Click Select placement.
Select only TikTok Pangle.
Choose the In-app event as your Optimization goal.
Note: RO events are automatically unlocked if the selected app has data upload turned on in settings for the Mobile Measurement Partners (MMP).
Select Day 1 Retention event.
Enter the bid for installation.
Note: The retention goal can be filled or unfilled. When entering the retention goal, our system will calculate the bid for Day 1 Retention and automatically display it under the retention goal box.
Click Next.
Choose between 3 to 7 ad creatives that your target audience engages with the most.
Click Submit.
