How to create Catalog Ads for the website conversions objective

Catalog Ads are an ad solution that uses images, videos, and product information from your Catalog to create personalized ads. You can use Catalog Ads to reach new and existing engaged audiences and personalize product recommendations based on their interests and behaviors.

Before you begin

  • Create a catalog with products. You will need at least 4 products in your catalog that are in stock, approved and activated.

  • Create single videos or carousels with images or videos from your product catalog.

Note: You don't need to set up a TikTok Shop when you choose a Catalog as your product source. If you want to promote your TikTok Shop products, learn about Video Shopping Ads (for TikTok Shop).

How to create Catalog Ads for the website conversions objective

To create Catalog Ads:

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager

  2. Click Campaign at the top of your dashboard.

  3. Click +Create.

  4. Choose Sales as your advertising objective.

  5. Choose Website as your sales destination.

  6. Choose Manual campaign.

  7. Click Continue.

  8. In the Product source details section, choose a Catalog or create a new one.

  9. Choose Website as your optimization location.

  10. Click Continue.

  11. If you want to use Spark Ads, go to Identity and click Use TikTok account to deliver Spark Ads.

  12. In the Product details section, choose the products you want to feature in your ad. You can choose:

    • All products: Feature all the products in your catalog.

    • Product set: Your ad will dynamically feature products from the product set you chose.

    • Specific products: Choose up to 20 products from your catalog.

  13. Select your ad creative:

    • Click Use catalog creative to generate a video or carousel using images from your product catalog.

    • Click +Add videos to choose videos from your library to feature in your ad.

    • Click +Create new to upload a new video or generate one with Smart Video.

  14. Choose the interactive add-ons you want to add. Choose Single add-on to create an add-on or select one from the add-on library. Choose Dynamic add-on to automatically show add-ons people are most likely to engage with.

  15. Add a URL for the website you want people to visit from your ads. You can add URL parameters to track which ads directed people to your website. Learn more about URL parameters for Carousel Ads.

  16. Complete the rest of your campaign settings. When you're finished, click Publish all.

Your Catalog Ads and the products in your Catalog will be submitted for review. When your ads are approved, they'll appear in the placements you chose. You can edit your ads any time in the Campaign tab in TikTok Ads Manager.
