How to measure app activity for non-app promotion campaigns

You can measure app activities, such as installs and in-app purchases, for non-app promotion campaigns in TikTok Ads Manager. For example, if your web conversion or traffic campaign directs users to a web landing page, you can still measure app installs and related in-app events.

Before you begin

  • Make sure you've integrated your app to TikTok Ads Manager using one of the data connection methods: Mobile Measurement Partner, App Events SDK, or App Events API.

  • You can only select one app (either Android or iOS) per ad. If your ad targets both operating systems simultaneously, some data may be lost. Create separate ad groups for iOS & Android to measure both operating systems.

How to measure app activity for non-app promotion campaigns

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Click the Campaign tab.

  3. Select the non-app promotion campaign where you want to enable app event tracking.

  4. Go to Ads, then click Edit Ad.

  5. Go to the Tracking section, then select your app next to App events.

6. Click Save. Repeat these steps for all the relevant ads in your campaign.
