How to set up Advanced Ads Delivery for Reach & Frequency campaigns

For Reach & Frequency campaigns, Advanced Ads Delivery lets you define the order that people will see your ads within an ad group using several options for delivery strategy. With Advanced Ads Delivery, you can tell your brand or product story in a desired creative series to build interest, reinforce a message, or create a unifying theme.

How Advanced Ads Delivery works

Reach & Frequency campaigns support up to 20 ads in an ad group. When creating an ad group with multiple ads, you must select the ad sequencing and schedule strategy. This will determine when people see your ads and the order they see them.

•​Each creative is delivered randomly, but with similar distribution of impressions between each creative.

•​When your messaging has multiple components such as highlighting product features, or different influencers within a single ad

Sequenced

•​Creatives are delivered in a set order.

•​When you tell a sequential brand story with a series of creatives.

Scheduled

•​Creatives are delivered during a set schedule.

•​When you want to pair creatives with a specific launch date or timing.


Note: If any of your ads are disapproved, we'll automatically adjust your sequencing and schedule accordingly.


  1. Create a new campaign in TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Select Reach & Frequency as the Buying Type.

  3. From the Ad sequencing & schedule module within the ad group settings page, choose your preferred delivery mode.

If you choose Standard delivery, no further set up is required. You will need to complete your ad group, submit your reservation, and create your ads. However, if you choose Sequenced or Scheduled delivery, you will need to determine the order that you want your ads to appear in.


For Sequenced Delivery

  1. From Ad sequencing & schedule, select Sequenced Delivery.

  2. Set the number of ads you wish to deliver.

  3. Complete your ad group.

  4. Submit your reservation.

  5. Continue to the ad creation page.

  6. From the Ad list module, you will see the ads in your delivery sequence.

  7. Create the ads for each ad in your delivery sequence.

  8. Once you have created all the ads, click Submit.


For Scheduled Delivery

  1. From Ad sequencing & schedule, select Scheduled Delivery.

  2. Click + Add new ad to set the number of ads to deliver in your ad group.

  3. Select the date range when you want to deliver your ads.

  4. Complete your ad group.

  5. Submit your reservation.

  6. Continue to the ad creation page.

  7. From the Ad list module, you will see the ads in your delivery sequence based on their delivery date.

  8. Create the ads for each ad in your delivery sequence.

  9. Once you have created all the ads, click Submit.


Note: If you wish to re-order the ads in your delivery sequence, click Edit Ad Schedule from the ad list module and re-order the ads from the ad group page. The impressions of each ad will be determined by your ad group's frequency setting, campaign flight duration, and ad review status.
