Uploading documents for advertisers on TikTok

To protect users and comply with regulations, TikTok may require advertisers to upload official documents to prove that your business is registered. To avoid future ad delivery delays, it is best to submit the documents promptly.

Accepted document types

The following documents are generally accepted forverification. For requirements specific to your region or market, learn about acceptable documents for business verification by market.

For individuals

  • Government-issued photo ID

  • Passport

  • Identification card or State identification

  • Driver's license

  • Permanent resident card/green card

  • Government-issued visa


For businesses, corporations, and organizations

  • Official government letter (including full name, address, and date of issue/expiry)

  • Tax registration/certificate

  • Business license


Required information for business verification documents

Make sure these documents are not expired and that they're issued by relevant authorities. Documents must include:

  • Full name (matching the "Company Name or Individual Name")

  • Full certification number

  • Full address. If you're submitting business documents, the address should match your company's address. If you're submitting documents as an individual, this should match your personal address.


Requirements for submitted documents

  • Clear and complete documents, avoid blur images

  • All four corners visible

  • No third-party watermarks except for advertising agencies

  • For Personal Documentation, user must show the age of 18 years or older

  • Selfies must include only the account holder, show the full face and top of shoulders, and be well-lit and unblurred

  • No submission of biometric data (such as fingerprints)

If your document has been rejected and you disagree with this decision, you may submit an appeal.
