With Euro 2024 fast approaching, CHECK24 seized the opportunity to stand front and center at one of the year's biggest events, hosted in its home market.


Boasting more than 20 million users, CHECK24 is Germany's leading comparison platform, helping consumers review and purchase insurance, mobile contracts, travel, and a wide range of products across multiple categories.


As Euro 2024 drew near, CHECK24 wanted to roll out an interactive prediction game in its mobile app, letting fans back their favorite teams and predict match results. Each new user would also be rewarded with a premium Germany jersey, produced by PUMA and proudly featuring the CHECK24 logo.

Turning fans into brand advocates


Great idea, great offer. The challenge: how to keep sign-ups growing and fans engaged during the tournament?


TikTok was the natural choice, with its proven ability to spark massive engagement and spread viral moments quickly across generations on the platform.


Content-wise, CHECK24 embraced TikTok's native style by shooting with smartphones, editing on the spot, and posting within minutes. Assets were created in multiple formats to connect with diverse audiences, while TikTok Spark Ads, a native ad format that boosts organic posts from real accounts, amplified top-performing videos. This ensured that every view, like, share, comment, and follow generated through promotion contributed directly to CHECK24's organic presence, maximizing both reach and user touchpoints.


The videos quickly sparked the hype around the jersey, exactly as CHECK24 had planned. Next, the brand took the campaign offline by meeting fans at event sites and rewarding those wearing the jersey and playing the prediction game with exclusive giveaways.


This wave of excitement drove engagement even higher, with UGC content skyrocketing—without the need for official creator collaborations. Through active community management, CHECK24 kept momentum strong, accelerating engagement both on TikTok and within the app.




Results


A winning campaign on and off the field


CHECK24 became a core part of Euro 2024 celebrations, seamlessly blending into fans' summer experiences. Over 5 million jerseys were sent out to ecstatic supporters, ensuring the comparison portal was present in the festivities of every city and town across Germany.


On TikTok, comments flooded in and the brand was featured in countless videos. Over 17,200 posts carried the hashtag #CHECK24, driving a massive 1 billion video views. With 715,000 search results for 'jersey,' CHECK24 captured one-third of all related searches and ranked #1 for the keyword on TikTok Germany.


CHECK24 not only conquered Euro 2024 but also took home the Greatest Creative Award in the DACH region at the TikTok Ad Awards 2024, underlining the overall success of this solution.

We had hoped that the hype surrounding the CHECK24 jerseys on TikTok would reach its peak and in fact we were virtually overwhelmed by user-generated content. In order to pass the ball back to the users, we invested a lot of time in picking up on topics that the community was interested in or creating reactions to particularly popular videos. TikTok provided us with the ideal basis for this intensive form of interaction.
