How to create a split test

Use the split test toggle in the TikTok Ads Manager when creating a campaign to test two different versions of your ads to determine which one performs best and to improve future campaigns.

How to create a split test

To create a split test:

  1. Go to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Click the Campaign tab.

  3. Click Create.

  4. Choose an advertising objective.

  5. Click the Create a split test toggle.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Complete the settings in the Ad group tab and continue. Note: Set the test schedule dates to at least 7 days so that the system has enough time to collect a useful sample.

  8. Complete settings under the Ad tab and continue.

The control ad group is all set and will start serving on its scheduled start date. Now, let's complete the split test setup by following these steps:

  1. Select a Split test variable in the Split test tab.

  2. Select a Key metric. The system uses the Key Metric to compare the two ad groups and determine the highest performing ad.

  3. Set up your Test ad group.

  4. Click Complete.
