How to set up Story Selection in TikTok Ads Manager

You can set up Story Selection in TikTok Ads Manager to further engage audiences with your brand.


To set up Story Selection in TikTok Ads Manager:

  1. Create a new campaign and configure the settings for Campaign and Ad Group.

  2. Select the objective from Reach (Reach & Frequency and Action), 6-second Focused View, Traffic, or App Promotions (if the account has been allowlisted for access).

  3. Upload creatives and configure ad captions in Ad details.

    • Note: The video you upload is the main video of Story Selection. You can upload it from the Asset Library or as Spark Ads.

  4. Click the Create button under the Interactive Add-on option.

  5. Select Premium add-on and go to Story Selection.

  6. Upload Sub-Video A and Sub-Video B and fill in the Story Selection topic. For the sub-video cover image, you can choose to use the first frame of video (default) or upload the custom cover image.

    • Note: Sub-videos cannot be selected from the asset library or pulled from the organic video.

  7. Verify Story Selection is set up correctly using the ad preview tool and submit the ad when finished.
