How to set up TikTok Growth Max: Mini Games ad campaigns

Powering the next wave of entertainment growth, TikTok Growth Max is turning immersive gaming experiences into scalable, incremental business outcomes through frictionless user journeys, rich onsite signals, and automation-powered optimization.

Before you begin

  • Make sure you have added your mini game to your Business Center.

  • TikTok Growth Max: Mini Games ad campaigns only support in-app advertising (IAA) Day 0 value-based optimization (VBO), which optimizes towards ad revenue return on ad spend (ROAS).

How to set up TikTok Mini Games In-app Ad Revenue (IAA) ad campaigns

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Select Create ad to create a new campaign.

  3. Choose the TikTok Native Growth objective.

  4. Select TikTok Mini Games as the optimization location.

  5. Complete the remaining campaign settings, then choose Continue to proceed to the ad group settings.

  6. In the Optimization and bidding section, choose your mini game or click Create new.

  7. By default, the optimization goal is set to Value. Enter the ad revenue value in the Select value field.

  8. Choose your bidding strategy.

    1. Highest Value is the default bidding strategy if you don't enter a Target ROAS value.

    2. If you want to use Target ROAS, enter Target Day 0 ROAS bid input.

  9. Enter your budget and schedule preferences.

  10. Set audience and location targeting accordingly. Note: Only targeting locations where clients have registered TikTok Mini Games are supported.

  11. Choose your placement strategy. Note: Only TikTok is supported.

  12. Click Next to proceed to your ad settings.

  13. Enter your ad settings as needed. We recommend at least 10 creatives per campaign. Note: Only video format is supported.

  14. In the Destination section, add the URL for your mini game. Check to make sure your mini game opens properly.

  15. Click Submit to create your ad.
