About TikTok placement

Placements are required ad group selections that define where your ads will run. The TikTok placement option is available within TikToks Ads Manager when creating an ad group. When you create an ad group, you are able to choose where you want your ads to appear. We call the places where your ads show placements. By selecting the TikTok placement, your ads will only appear on TikTok and its family of apps.


When selecting TikTok placements, you can choose from the following options:

  • For You Feed - When selecting "For You", your ads may also appear in the following placements:

    • Profile Feed

    • Following Feed

    • TikTok Lite

  • Search Feed

  • TikTok Lite (Japan & Korea only)


TikTok placements support the following advertising objectives:

  • Shop Purchases

  • Product Sales

  • Video Views

  • Reach

  • Traffic

  • Lead Generation

  • App Installs

  • Conversion.


TikTok placements supports the following bidding methods:

  • CPM (Cost per Thousand Impressions)

  • oCPM (Optimized Cost per Thousand Impressions)

  • CPC (Cost per Click)
