Where is my leads data stored?

Your lead ad data is stored on TikTok’s servers located in different geographic areas based on the end-user's registration location to reduce latency in data access and provide redundancy to ensure no data loss for advertisers under extreme conditions like unusually high amount of traffic or network challenges. How is the data secured?

TikTok user data is protected by strong physical and logical security controls, including gated entry points, firewalls, and intrusion detection technologies. Who has access to stored data?

Collected leads data is accessible to the advertiser on TTAM, Leads Center and a connected CRM, also available to be downloaded via TikTok Marketing API. To learn more, refer to Access Leads Data.

• Access to the Lead Center data is strictly restricted to Admin-permissioned advertisers. These permissions are set and determined by the client.

• For advertisers who need to restrict agency access to leads data, they can have the agency Transfer leads access to Business Center.

Who can see the stored data?

Will TikTok be responsible for user data security?

TikTok shares the responsibility for the lead data security that is stored on the TikTok server. TikTok securely stores lead data and no third party is allowed to access the data without advertisers' authorization.

Will other advertisers receive my lead data?

No. Your lead ad data will only be provided to you to be accessed within leads center. Users may choose to share the same or similar information through different lead ads created by other advertisers. TikTok will also use the information submitted by users through the lead ad, subject to TikTok Privacy Policy and Lead Generation Terms .

What does TikTok do with lead ad data?

TikTok may use lead ad data independently from the advertiser as permitted by its Lead Generation Terms, including prefilling future instant forms individuals may complete. TikTok does not use user responses collected from advertiser's custom questions.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is TikTok the data controller or data processor for lead ads?In the case of lead ads, both TikTok and the advertiser are data controllers. As a result, both parties are responsible for ensuring compliance by providing notice and establishing a legal basis for processing the data provided by a person using our platform. The lead ads product requires advertisers to link to their privacy policy, and gives advertisers an option to link to their custom disclaimer.

Do I need specific Ad Account permission to access leads?

Yes. Only users with Admin permissions to your Ad Account will be able to access leads.

How can I manage my lead data on TikTok?

The lead center is a lead management tool that enables advertisers to manage their lead data. It allows you to export and delete your lead data from the leads center.
