How TikTok Lead Genie works
When customers enters your business’s Direct Message chat with TikTok Lead Genie enabled, they’ll be informed that they’re messaging with a virtual assistant. Customers can ask questions about your business and its products in natural language. Your chatbot will respond instantly, based on the information in the Knowledge Base that you provided.
Your team members with access to your Business Account's Direct Messages can view conversations between the customer and the chatbot in real time.
If customers explicitly request to speak with a human agent, the chatbot will be paused and you'll receive a notification in your TikTok app (if notifications are enabled) on the human agent request. You can take over the conversation at any time to respond manually. Once a manual reply is sent, the chatbot pauses and will only reactivate after 3 minutes of inactivity from the business.
The chatbot is designed to gather essential contact information from prospective customers during conversations. With the auto lead capture feature on, these are automatically captured in Leads Center when the customers leave the contact information. Note that this feature is only available to TikTok Business Accounts registered in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam).
