Bringing modern pet wellness to TikTok Shop to drive customer growth

Finn is a modern pet wellness company that blends science and clean ingredients to innovate pet healthcare supplements, grooming tools, and more. As TikTok is a go-to platform for discovering new products for shoppers and TikTok Shop's ease of making in-app purchases, the pet care brand saw an opportunity to expand its customer base. In late 2024, it made the strategic move to run TikTok ads and TikTok Shop through the TikTok Shopify Plus Program. With the goals of reaching new audiences and driving product sales, Finn launched a TikTok Shop campaign to promote its full product line.





The solution

Leveraging affiliate creator trust and shoppable formats

To kick off its TikTok advertising debut, Finn ran a performance-driven campaign that embraced the platform’s Shop Ad formats, trusted affiliate creators, and the TikTok Shopify Plus program. With support from the TikTok Shopify Plus package, the brand was armed with the tools and guidance it needed to succeed on TikTok from the start. The program, a premium package designed for Shopify Plus advertisers (Shopify's highest-tier plan), provided Finn with ad credits, a dedicated TikTok ads specialist, creative support, and other incentives. This foundation enabled Finn to move quickly and confidently, testing and optimizing in real-time, and ultimately turned TikTok into one of its most successful channels.


Finn’s campaign strategy leaned on shoppable content formats, with affiliate creators at the helm. The pet care brand partnered with high-performing affiliates — everyday creators with trust from their communities — for authentic product reviews, serving as the best brand advocates and leading the charge for Finn. These affiliates created TikTok-first content featuring customer testimonials and compelling calls to action that would resonate with pet owners. Finn then sparked its content as Video Shopping Ads, directing people to product listing pages where they could make a purchase, to expand reach and drive conversions. This blend of creator trust and platform-native ad formats enabled Finn to guide users seamlessly from discovery to purchase.


To encourage discovery among pet lovers active on TikTok, the brand targeted high-intent shoppers who were actively searching for similar products. It ran Product Shopping Ads to showcase its full product catalog to users already browsing in the Shop tab, enabling them to quickly find and purchase products. To maximize performance, Finn incorporated platform best practices, such as broad audience targeting, to cast the widest net of users.






The results

Fetching big wins

The results spoke for themselves. Its campaign reached over 16 million users, its largest paid audience reach to date. Not only did Finn capture the attention of pet owners on TikTok, but also drove them down the funnel, resulting in more than 5,500 TikTok Shop purchases in a matter of weeks. With a 6% purchase rate, the brand maintained strong CPAs and ROAS, validating TikTok as a high-performing channel for customer acquisition.


Encouraged by these early wins, Finn plans to deepen its investment in TikTok, continuing to scale its use of affiliate content and shoppable formats. With TikTok Shop now a core part of its digital strategy, Finn is well-positioned to drive ongoing growth through creative storytelling, creator affiliate content, and platform-native commerce.
