The objective

As a thriving affiliated creator on TikTok, Honey Bloom’s founder recognised a bigger opportunity — launching her own beauty brand and leveraging TikTok Shop to scale product sales. With an engaged community and deep insights into beauty trends, she set out to build a brand that resonated with TikTok shoppers, combining viral appeal with high-quality products. To accelerate growth and maximise sales potential, Honey Bloom tapped into TikTok’s advanced ad solutions, embracing automation and affiliate-driven strategies to enhance visibility, drive conversions, and establish a strong brand presence in the competitive beauty market.



The solution

Honey Bloom leveraged Product GMV Max, an automated ad campaign solution designed to optimise total Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) on TikTok Shop. By utilising all available creative assets, Product GMV Max enhanced both organic and paid ad delivery, driving incremental GMV across multiple placements — including the TikTok feed, search, and ‘Shop’ Tab. This strategy seamlessly integrated video and product card formats, maximising exposure across key shoppable touchpoints. 

Despite initial success, Honey Bloom noticed that brand-run ads felt less authentic compared to user-generated content, limiting their impact. To bridge this gap, she activated Affiliate Creatives for Ads (ACA) — a feature that allows brands to use videos created by affiliate creators in their paid Shop Ads. These affiliate videos can be used in campaigns to drive conversions, with commissions automatically tracked and paid out for resulting sales. ACA enriched Honey Bloom’s ad inventory with authentic, user-generated content that resonate with shoppers. This approach not only increases ad relevance and engagement but also enhances conversion rates by blending paid promotions with trusted peer recommendations. To unlock more eligible videos, Honey Bloom activated Affiliate Mass Authorization, enabling all of a creator’s toggled-on posts to be accessed at scale. She also increased her Shop Ads commission rate — incentivising more creators to authorise their content for use in ads.





The result

Within just one day of activation, Honey Bloom achieved remarkable success on TikTok Shop. The campaign delivered a 3.9x Return on Investment (ROI), along with a 316% uplift in order volume and a 261% increase in GMV — all without changing delivery settings or increasing budget. These results underscore the powerful synergy between Product GMV Max and ACA — combining automated optimisation with affiliate-driven content in maximising sales, optimising ad spend, and driving sustained growth on the platform.
