The Objective 

KitKat is the world known chocolate covered wafer bar, who have been helping people have better breaks since 1935. Produced globally by Nestlé. The brand came to TikTok to drive mass awareness for their new KitKat Bites product launch.


The Solution

KitKat wanted to create relevant and fun content for the TikTok community, so they took part in the TikTok Creative Exchange (TTCX) program and collaborated with Wunderman Thompson. TTCX enables fast, scalable production of creative content for advertisers. The platform gives instant access to a selection of the best TikTok creative partners in the industry, and facilitates efficient collaboration. Advertisers can manage creative projects through the portal in a simple workflow, designed to generate best in-class creative. 


KitKat paired up with agency partner Pulse, and collaborated on producing impactful ad creative that put KitKat Bites front and centre, while keeping the videos humorous and native to the platform. The videos were then set up as In-Feed Ads, appearing in users’ For You feed. 



The Results

The campaign was a huge success for KitKat, with a 2 second view-through rate of 18.6%, which was 46% above benchmark, proving just how engaging the ad creative was. To top it off, a brand lift study revealed a 44 percentage point lift in ad recall.
