Acquiring new users for Chaty
Messenger brand Chaty developed a new live-chat app designed to connect locals. The brand wanted to acquire new app users so they came to TikTok to tap into our extensive audience and drive app installs.
In collaboration with SoHype, Chaty adopted a user-generated approach with a strong focus on authentic content and then set up the videos as In-Feed Ads on TikTok Ads Manager.
Chaty collaborated with ContentJet to work with micro and nano-creators and also crowdsourced creatives to test and learn. The videos consisted of creators talking animatedly to camera about Chaty’s features.
The brand’s first campaign objective was to drive app installs optimising for cost per install. After gaining some conversion volume, the brand switched this to an app event optimisation objective, optimising for purchases.
The campaign achieved conversation-starting results, with a 15% reduction in cost per acquisition compared to other platforms and a 3.3% click-through rate. The success of the campaign has led the brand to scale to new markets including the UK, Canada and Mexico.
