Raising awareness for a growing brand on TikTok with a content-driven approach

Takkenkamp was founded in 1947 by the Takkenkamp family in the Netherlands. What started as a small local masonry business has grown into a leading expert in facade maintenance, insulation, and sustainable renovation. Takkenkamp's mission is to build and preserve a better living environment through craftsmanship, innovation, and care for people and planet.
@takkenkamp_groep has an active organic presence of nearly 5k followers on TikTok. The content focuses mainly on craftsmanship, sustainability, and life on the job in construction. Videos often show real employees, behind-the-scenes moments, and technical insights in an authentic, down-to-earth style that highlights both expertise and team spirit.
This campaign was Takkenkamp's first exploration into building advertising campaigns on TikTok, working with their agency Adwise, the insulation company launched their first awareness campaign with the objective of attracting new followers to the profile.
With the objectives of increasing reach and profile followers, the campaign for Takkenkamp Groep maintained a broad audience targeting approach, reaching a wide audience across the Netherlands.
Having already built a strong foundation of informative and engaging content for their organic profile, the company leveraged TikTok's native ad format, Spark Ads, to deliver their authentic content to audiences without disrupting their usual app behaviour.
Leveraging Spark ads meant that Takkenkamp Groep were able to use their existing high performing organic content within the campaign, which also varies the content delivered and reduces ad fatigue for the campaign – often leading to higher and more consistent engagement rates and performance against the key objectives (in this case, profile follows).
The campaign was largely successful at generating awareness for Takkenkamp Groep, leading to an increase in followers and profile engagement. The campaign, which ran over a 2 month period, saw an 88.5% growth in profile followers (in the first 1.5 months), cost per follow remained below €1, and an engagement rate above 19% for the whole campaign.
Leading the campaign was TikTok's Spark Ads format, allowing the business to focus on creating content their audience loves and letting the TikTok algorithm ensure effective targeting of the best performing content.
Beyond the key objective of increasing followers, Takkenkamp Groep also received feedback from interested customers that they first discovered the company through TikTok – A credit to the success of the awareness campaign.
Overall, the campaign successfully enabled Takkenkamp Groep to achieve their goals and begin their TikTok journey with a larger and more engaged audience.
