Announcing the #BuildForTikTok 2022 Innovation Challenge Champions

The TikTok Marketing Partners Program launched the #BuildForTikTok challenge in September 2021, looking for innovative solutions that would help brands supercharge their creative and campaign performance. Specifically, we crafted briefs based on advertisers' biggest challenges on our platform and called on companies to build for TikTok, solving these challenges based on our key evaluation areas of innovation, feasibility and impact. We were looking for those who are pioneering approaches for TikTok-first creative that takes advantage of our powerful ad formats, or campaign management solutions that help advertisers optimize budgets and results. The goal of the challenge was to support technological developments from both current partners in the program and to discover new innovative partners.


Participants were mentored by TikTok and were then narrowed down to the top 6 finalists: gen.video, Captiv8, Shuttlerock, The Source, Smartly.io and Ad-Lib. After careful deliberation and rounds of interviews and demonstrations, we are excited to announce the champions of the first #BuildForTikTok innovation challenge: Captiv8 and gen.video.
