Burger King Increases Sales through Branded Mission by 15x
In a highly competitive market, which is dominated by customer preference, Burger King in Turkey wanted to attract new customers through a differentiated offering and increase their sales for the ice cream category.
Turkey is a snack-loving market and in summers, this translated into love for milkshakes & ice-creams! In the summer of 2022, Burger King and TikTok partnered to hack this food. We worked with Burger King to come up with an Milkshake & Ice-Cream Hack and created a new, limited and TikTok first ice-cream milkshake, which would only be available across 20 stores in Turkey for a limited time period.In order to popularize this new ice-cream milkshake hack, we needed to harness TikTok's secret weapon; our TikTok Creator Community. And we achieved this @ Scale through Branded Mission, which allowed us to reach Turkish micro & nano creators, inform them of the limited offer ice-cream milkshake and crowdsource high quality UGC. Increasing buzz and fomo in the market.All content that was submitted lived under #MilkshakeSeniÇağırıyor and the entire campaign was amplified through Spark Ads.
By leveraging a TikTok first strategy, Burger King was able to effectively deploy TikTok's premier solutions to achieve a YOY 15x increase in ice cream sales. Moreover, TikTok's 1st Party BLS showed an 8% Lift in Awareness of the new product and Burger King was able to generate 58M Relevant Video Views.
Since our new milkshake is a food-hack concept, we designed all the stages from awareness to purchase on TikTok for our launch. It contributed enough to the sales to enlarge the total ice cream category. We intend to increase our cooperation and investments with TikTok.
