Increasing click-through-rate and lowering cost-per-install with TikTok Creative Challenge
Checkmate is a personalized shopping app that helps shoppers find and discover brands, save money, track their packages, and streamline their entire online purchase experience. Checkmate had previously worked with a few pre-selected creators on a one-off basis to generate content for Spark ads, but this time the brand was interested in increasing both the variety and volume of its creator-led content.
Checkmate turned to the TikTok Creative Challenge for help. The videos they received from TTCC featured creators providing instructions and helpful tips on how to get the most out of the app, unlike previous creative which had not been educational in nature. The user-generated content nature of the videos was the perfect fit for the For You page and offered an authentic TikTok feel in the videos while still promoting Checkmate's app.
The Creative Challenge was also able to consistently supply Checkmate with enough assets to align with TikTok's best practices for advertising, including increasing the variety of ad content in its campaigns.
TikTok users are looking for brands to teach them something new through their advertising, and the creative Checkmate received through TTCC accomplished exactly that. Between June and July of 2023, Checkmate was able to scale its ad spend by over 200% using assets from TTCC. They also drove improved results, including a 43% increase in click-through rate (CTR) and an 18% decrease in cost-per-install (CPI).
