Helping Lancôme distribute samples of their 'Idôle' perfume to a Portuguese audience
Lancôme is well recognised for its lines of luxurious makeup, skincare and fragrances. To help launch their latest perfume, Idôle Aura, the brand came to TikTok to raise awareness and drive sales in Portugal through the country’s first sampling campaign on the platform.
Nothing entices new customers like a sampling campaign. Working with the agency StudioM, Lancôme launched the first TikTok sampling campaign in Portugal using the recently launched Lead Generation objective, which allowed users to request a free sample of their new fragrance from within an In-Feed Ad. A 6-second video presented the fragrance, its ingredients, and encouraged the users to request their sample, providing a seamless user experience that yielded some serious user engagement for the brand.
Running for 11 days and generating huge amounts of positive sentiment, the Lancôme sampling campaign was a massive success.
A seriously impressive conversion rate of 12.24% smashed the benchmarks, driving thousands of users to either the sample order page or the Lancôme website. The campaign also yielded thousands of new customers for Lancôme to communicate with, translated as 85% new leads when compared with the brand’s existing database.
Testing sampling through TikTok was fundamental to reach new audiences, demonstrated by the new contacts for Lancôme’s database (vs already registered users), proving TikTok as a valid data collection source for future campaigns, in less time.
