Delivering paid subscriptions at an efficient cost
ThreadBeast's online subscription service delivers stylist-curated men's apparel and accessories on a monthly basis. After seeing strong organic performance on TikTok, ThreadBeast looked to the platform to drive subscriptions for its monthly clothing boxes.
ThreadBeast had already seen organic lift from TikTok creators and wanted to engage further by launching its first-ever TikTok campaign. Focusing on driving subscriptions among a fashion-leaning 18+ male audience, ThreadBeast partnered with a mix of creators who had previously made their own ThreadBeast content on TikTok. Using Spark Ads, ThreadBeast amplified the creators' organic content, which helped ThreadBeast show up authentically on the platform while allowing the creator content to reach a wider audience. TikToks from @hommiepen and @jesselaflair featured ThreadBeast unboxing videos as they showed off their new threads to the TikTok community. 'Shop Now' call-to-action buttons were also added to existing high-performing organic content to drive subscription sales.
ThreadBeast leveraged auction buying for Spark Ads through TikTok Ads Manager. Following the lead of its TikTok account team, ThreadBeast and its agency New Engen first optimized its campaign for "View Content." By warming up the TikTok Pixel with top-funnel event optimizations, ThreadBeast was able to move down the funnel quickly and efficiently. Within two weeks, ThreadBeast was optimizing for "Complete Purchase" while scaling its ad spend by 10X.
Finally, while interest targeting was set broadly, TikTok’s algorithm continued to refine the audience to reach those most likely to convert. The campaign was part of a larger strategy across other platforms, with ThreadBeast using TikTok to reach a younger demographic. Still, the brand started to see older demographics converting, delivering an added bonus to its campaign.
By following the TikTok account team's recommendations, ThreadBeast optimized its efforts and followed best practices in real-time. Properly warming up the pixel allowed ThreadBeast to scale efficiently while breezing through the learning phase. And tapping into existing creator partnerships with Spark Ads unlocked cost efficiencies, cutting CPA by over 2X.
The evergreen campaign continues to run. ThreadBeast increases its spend daily, pacing the brand to a 1,400% increase from where it started. Amplifying creator content with Spark Ads helped ThreadBeast surpass its goal and demonstrated the power of TikTok to drive conversions. Moreover, the TikTok campaign's top-performing asset performed 13% more cost-efficiently than its blended CPA goal across all platforms.
