Growing climate-conscious communities and boosting app installs with creator collaborations
We all look for steps we can take to make a positive impact on the environment. Treecard, a mission-driven finance brand, makes that possible with its Walk to Plant campaign; for every 10,000 steps a user takes, Treecard plants a tree and gives that person plant-friendly rewards. For this campaign, Treecard aimed to increase awareness among TikTok’s US-based eco-community, drive app installations, and encourage new users to join the Walk to Plant program.
The Treecard team came to the TikTok Creator Marketplace to find the perfect roster of creators to help them tell their brand story on TikTok. Treecard identified talent that truly embodied its ethos—and that could help it reach a relevant audience to create the biggest impact.
TikTok Creator Marketplace makes it easy for brands to discover the right creators. For this campaign, Treecard and its marketing consultancy, Kurve, searched for creators who shared the brand’s ecological principles.
For example, they worked with @freespirithaley, who posted a video where she shared her favorite nature moments while discussing Treecard’s mission. By tapping into TikTok’s hiking and nature-loving communities, Treecard was able to reach people whose authentic interests aligned with its mission.
After seeing the widespread appeal of its initial campaign, Treecard branched out of the hiking and nature communities; they started working with a wide range of other creators, using TikTok-native trends like “hot girl walk” and AI-generated voice-overs to talk about the brand. Part of that effort included using TikTok’s Open Applications tool to find even more relevant creators to work with, and using Spark Ads to boost existing user-generated content that talked about its brand.
Creator collaborations were hugely successful for Treecard, boosting brand awareness and skyrocketing app installs in a relatively short period of time. With smooth collaboration processes and an easy-to-use search tool, TikTok Creator Marketplace facilitated the creation of 280 creator videos for the brand, resulting in more than 230 million unique views and the achievement of its brand objective—encouraging users to take climate action.
In terms of performance, Treecard saw a 1,027% rise in app installs, a 63% decrease in cost per install, and a 327% lift in customer spend.
“The process of discovering creators on TTCM was very straightforward from the beginning. The platform is simple and intuitive and has allowed us to scale the search for creators immensely,” said a representative from Kurve, the marketing consultancy on the project. “We were able to source thousands of creators using the platform and the reaction from the creators has been very positive.”
