BSSET was founded in December 2023 by Ibrahim and Mohammed (widely known as Mo’s Barber on social media). With Mo’s massive online following, they received daily requests for hairstyling product recommendations. This inspired them to transform their business: Instead of promoting other brands, they launched BSSET to offer their own high-quality products tailored to their audience.


Building on existing popularity, early sales surged, scaling from barbershop sales to large warehouse orders. To support rapid growth, they brought in business and finance expertise to solidify operations and drive expansion.


As a creator-led brand, @bsset.styling has built its success on organic TikTok content. Their videos showcase product demonstrations that are both educational and inspiring, bringing their products to life through diverse styling content. This authentic and creative approach prioritizes entertainment and education, seamlessly integrating promotions to drive sales naturally.


Leveraging their existing content and community, this campaign aimed to boost conversions while maintaining a strong roi to fuel further growth.



The solution

Driving Sustainable Growth with GMV Max


To achieve their campaign goals of increasing sales, BSSET leveraged TikTok’s GMV Max, optimizing organic, paid and affiliate traffic to maximize ROI. As an automation solution for TikTok Shop Ads, GMV Max enabled BSSET to streamline campaign settings while ensuring ad spend efficiency.


Through the campaign, BSSET repurposed high-performing affiliate content, which has been proven already to work well for the brand's organic presence. By leading with this content, BSSET strived to maintain authenticity throughout the campaign, prioritizing educational and entertaining content over promotions. This approach helped to maintain high brand trust, while expanding their audience and increasing sales.


Having used TikTok advertising features since April 2024, BSSET have consistently achieved strong roi. However, in previous campaigns, they faced challenges when trying to maintain their desired roi over longer periods of time as budgets increased. By putting their trust in GMV Max for this campaign, they worked on overcoming this challenge to drive sustainable high performance.

The TikTok campaign for BSSET delivered outstanding results, significantly increasing sales and roi. The campaign achieved a +141% growth in GMV sales, maintained an ROI of 6, and generated £35K in sales within the first week alone.


Beyond immediate sales success, the campaign also drove higher demand across BSSET’s entire product range. Their hero product quickly sold out, and GMV Max seamlessly shifted focus to alternative products, sustaining the sales momentum.


GMV Max also helped the brand to benefit in terms of time management, by saving time manually optimizing campaigns they were able to focus on their broader international growth plans and on extending their product range - only having to spend 5 minutes daily on management of campaigns being ran by GMV max.
