Pangle IAA VBO D0 achieved ROAS target and increased 15X spend on TikTok
The objective
Mini Games: Calm & Relax is a collection of easy-to-learn mini-games launched globally in October 2024 by Vietnam-based gaming company Rocket Game Studio. It combines multiple play modes and genres to keep gamers entertained and engaged.
Rocket Game Studio approached TikTok in July to create a Pangle In-App Advertisement Value-Based Optimization (IAA VBO) campaign. In anticipation of the game's global launch, the team wanted to leverage TikTok's products to acquire valuable gamers and optimize key performance metrics, including cost per purchase (CPA) and return on ad spend (ROAS).
Having worked with TikTok previously, Rocket Game Studio was optimistic about creating campaigns using the Pangle IAA VBO solution. Pangle's extensive network of 100,000+ global apps enabled the studio to reach engaged audiences in 36 markets, making it ideal for launching the game globally.
Additionally, as the name suggests, Value-Based Optimization (VBO) helped identify users with higher per-purchase value, improving advertising effectiveness and ad performance. Rocket Game Studio used its in-house creatives to run two campaigns to compare ROAS on Day 0: one with Pangle IAA VBO solution with MinROAS bidding and another without the Pangle solution.
The Pangle IAA VBO campaign, optimized for higher per-purchase value, yielded better ROAS. Compared to the client’s target KPI, they achieved a 20% higher ROAS on Day 0. After seeing these results, the team increased their ad spending by 15x, leading to a significant uplift in performance.
